Welcome to the Ecology Squad! We will use this space as a discussion forum for Ecology ideas for the 2009 - 2010 school year.

Welcome to Your New Wiki!
I would like to hear your opinions regarding the ideas which have been submitted to the squad. Please add any additional ideas to the list with ways to accomplish your goal.
We will meet for lunch on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 to choose our three final ideas. We will discuss how we can implement our choices. Mrs. Carroll will work with us to submit a grant request to defray the expense of the recycle bins.
Ideas:
1. Turn off lights in the entire school for a period of time/or a day.
2. Have classroom instruction outside
3. Go to a park and clean up trash - one class every month or every other month outdoors. Can this be part of the science curriculum? Can someone check with Ms. Moleski?
4. Make paper and use it. The Ecology Squad would stay after school and make the paper which would be used by the middles school.
5. Use recycled paper for liturgy booklets.
6. Increase recycling efforts by including paper, water bottles, aluminum cans, and paper juice boxes. Any other additional items which we could include on the list?
7. Earth Day activity – using recyclable objects make an item of clothing to wear and display. Middle School students only – faculty as judges?
8. Recycle Caprisun juice pouches to increase the recycling in the school.
9. We could recycle the products used at lunchtime.
10. Everyone could bring in their own lunch utensils insted of plastic ones?
